Maggie Walker Coaches Jim Holdren, Ryan Webb, and Deborah Snagg have put together a Track and cross country dynasty that simply can’t be topped.  Dominating in all possible state competitions last year  — winning the Boys and Girls XC, Indoor, and Outdoor Track titles — the Dragons are on track for another perfect year.  In cross country, Walker went  1-2 in both men’s and women’s races, winning the title on both sides and earning a spot in Milestat.com’s “13 Scariest Teams in Virginia!” with the leadership of Emma Call (‘16), Khloe Pointer (‘17), Evan Fisher (‘16) and Ryan Buscalgia (‘17).   During the indoor track season, the MLWGS team dazzled again with state titles in both groups after top finishers from Buscalgia, Fisher, Call, Pointer, Max Frankel (’17), Robert Hicks (’16), and Shanti Hiremath (’16) in various events.  Now they have reached the outdoor season, and the team has had another strong start.  At the recent Lee Davis Invitational notable finishers included Hiremath, who placed first in pole vault, as well as Buscalgia, Fisher, Sterling Schmidt (’16). Call and Pointer who all claimed new top times for their respective events at the 2A level this season.  As postseason approaches, the track team aims to defend the Maggie Walker dynasty.
